Hey guys, Sam here.
Next week’s page is BADASS. It’s really some of my best work. Since we’re switching to good ol’ fashioned Black and White, I’ve had to really change up how I draw a little bit. I can’t rely on color to get detail information across anymore. See, where before, if I wanted to get an idea across, I might say, “Hey, the color can do that.” Now the color’s out the door, tears in its eyes. I’m too big a man to let the color back in, too big a man to show my weakness. To show how much I really care. How much I really love. I cry sometimes. Into my pillow. And I need two tissues…
Anyway, so I had an emergency drawing gig pop up tonight that’s going to prevent me from getting this page done on time. It’s penciled (mostly), so all I need to do is ink it. But I had to go through some growing pains with this new process. It’s really educational to only focus on black and white coming from color, so I had to stumble a lot and pick myself up, but I’m a better artist for it.
Expect this page sometime on Saturday or maybe Sunday. Next week’s page should be right on schedule.
Peace, my bitches.

Hale and Hardy Hello KickHeads,
The first full “issue” of DropKick finally draws to a close. I realize our story may be a little difficult to follow so far. The pacing leaves something to be desired; you can see Sam’s art improving with every page. To be honest, we know the eventual end of this arc but I tend to sit down and write the dialogue and plan the specific pages two or three at a time. Sometimes there isn’t a script, I just talk to Sam and then he sits down and draws it. I’m sure you can tell. Truly, that’s the whole point of DropKick. He started as a character I created for something else; I asked Sam to draw me a picture and he sprang to life. The other project never panned out but we like Chazz Phelps so much we decided to make this webcomic so as to practice that which we hope to do: create comics. DropKick may be unfocused at times because we’re literally making it up as we go. This is an outlet for all of our stupid and silly ideas and we thank you for sharing the experience and supporting our process.
You can rest assured that this story is going to take us to interesting places. The story you’re currently reading will probably be three more issues about the length of the first. We’ve only begun to hint at the underpinnings of the universe Chazz inhabits and we hope the next issue will really start to paint a cracked and compelling picture.
Kick Hard,
Andy
